Description

Ever since my best friend and I saw Oliver & Company in the theater (the original release in 1988), we had been creating characters but I was the only one who continued to do so. This movie inspired me to create cartoon characters and for some reason got me into the Doberman breed. The four in this picture is my latest redraw (there will most likely be more redraws) and are the original four that we created. Not only did I draw the characters (my friend has no artistic talent :)) but we RP'd them. The following is their short introduction:

The main focus is Missi, the white Doberman. Her name always stayed the same but she has changed. She began her life as a black Doberman. But she changed to white as I became more involved in real life with finding out everything I could on whites, from both sides of the fence. The only critique I discourage is calling her albino, do NOT do this. She is not albino, she is WHITE. Here is my stance on the white Doberman [link]

To the left of her is Kodi, who has had both a physical change and a name change. He started out as Rama from The Jungle Book (one of the wolves who raised Mowgli). This would end up being unacceptable due to copyright (hey, I was 10 years old what do I know about copyright infringement?) laws. He was, however, my own species creation. He was called a Kodiak wolf for reasons I don't remember. Eventually my mom had taken back an Akita puppy (she used to breed them) whom I talked her into letting me have him, which didn't last. I named him Kodi (or he came with it, I don't know). After he was sold, I modeled Rama after Kodi and gave him the name as well.

On the far left is Brutus Barkley (don't ask why he has a last name, I don't even remember why he got one). He has been toned down a bit too, he always had a mohawk but it was different colors like a rainbow. It wasn't long before he just got a red one with black tips. I believe he also used to wear a leather jacket and a spiked collar but I don't recall for sure. So he only got a couple minor physical changes. He may have also been black too, before I knew there were more colors to the Doberman than black :)

Last is Spike, who was my friend's idea. She has been toned down a bit, but I may give her some of her original props in a more professional drawing (this is basically just a doodle). Black is of course her original color. She used to sport a spiked collar, spiked "wristbands" and even a spiked jacket. Hence the name Spike. But I think I will give her back the collar and "wristbands" as they are part of her trademark.

This was done with markers and obviously not very detailed. I didn't really care about detail, it was just a quick doodle to show some people my Doberman characters (I do have more though). Since my cartoon characters are a huge part of my life, I will most likely put up more.

I welcome critiques on the cartoon aspects (structure and whatnot) but refrain from anything else because like I said, I didn't really care to.

It means that she's not albino because I don't believe white Dobermans are albino, based on the research I have done (both on the internet and by living with one for a time). That is all I will say on the matter, as I'd rather not turn my submission into a "discussion" forum. I have included a link to my research in Missi's paragraph. The website is incomplete, but most of it is there. Sorry but I wish no further discussion on the white/albino debate in this or any other submission I will have (there will be more), any continuation and I will close this for comments.

As for the rest, thank you. I think I made Brutus too long, but eh I don't care. It's just a doodle :)
